What You'll Find on This Page
Jellyfish Template
This jellyfish craft template is so cute and with three different designs available in the PDF files it’s perfect for making some fun sea crafts either at home or in a classroom.
You can print these onto normal paper but if the craft you’re trying is likely to use a lot of paint or glue then I’d recommend cardstock instead so it doesn’t become too saturated.
In the template bundle you’ll find one image of just a jellyfish head shape that you can add materials and drawings too, perfect for getting really creative, one picture of a jellyfish with tentacles and a blank face to add your own and one that includes a face as well. You can print all of them or just the one you want to use.
Jellyfish Craft Ideas
Coloring
The simplest way to get creative is coloring, all you need to do is grab crayons, markers or coloring pencils and you’re ready to get started.
This would work well with either of the two designs that include tentacles, all you need to decide is if you would like to design the face of your jellyfish yourself or if you would prefer to color our design.
Add some tentacles
There are so many different ways that you could make some tentacles and it’s a super easy jellyfish craft to try.
This is a great way to use up any materials that you have lying around or you could put a selection on the table and see which ones your kid goes for. You can use glue or double sided tape to stick these on.
Some good choices might be colored construction paper (perfect for practicing those scissor skills), ribbon, strips of bubble wrap, yarn or pipecleaners.
Pom pom painting
Painting with pom poms is a really nice way to create a piece or art with a textured look to it and it’s a nice alternative to using a paintbrush.
Handprint art
Using the most basic template, pour some paint onto a plate or tray and then carefully place your hand in it making sure that all your fingers get paint on them.
You can then place your hand onto the picture with the fingers pointing downwards to make the tentacles. Obviously you’ll want to make sure that you have some kind of cloth nearby for this one or that you’re super close to a sink to help stop everything getting too messy!
Stickers
Stickers are great for a mess free way to decorate that can also help support fine motor skills too. Why not use small circle or dot stickers on your jellyfish’s tentacles or use larger ones to make its eyes? You could even decorate the back of the picture with blue stickers to help represent the ocean.
Make a display
Turn a wall into an indoor aquarium or ocean by grabbing some more of our templates: our shark, fish and shell would all be perfect and they’re all free to download too.
More Jellyfish Crafts for Kids
We used upcycled paper bags to make this paper bag jellyfish craft with its colorful tentacles made from shredded tissue paper. You could also use this as a puppet to play with too.
Paper plates are great for kids crafts as they’re relatively cheap to buy and something that many of us have tucked away in a cupboard at home. Just add some colored paper, scissors, glue and a black marker and you’re ready to make our paper plate jellyfish craft. You’ll also find instructions there for a cute paper plate narwhal too!
