Easter Egg Game
As a mom I always think it’s good to have some fun Easter games to play this time of the year and while we’re not always so great at an egg and spoon race this simple game is so much fun and it’s one that the whole family can get involved in. At least in our family grandparents and older kids are normally just as happy to eat a few mini eggs as the younger kids are!
Another benefit to this game is that there’s no strict ‘winner’ but instead everyone wins because you’ve all gotten to eat some candy. You can also play it for as long as you like and it doesn’t really matter if that players change while you’re playing it which makes it a great option for Easter parties.
If you are playing this Easter egg game in a classroom or with a group of children you might want to laminate the printable both to ensure that it stays in a decent condition and also so that you can use it again.
Supplies Needed:
- Easter egg game PDF
- White paper or cardstock
- Easter candy – mini eggs, jelly beans or any other small Easter candy would be ideal
Do I Have To Use Candy?
No, if you’d prefer to play this game without using candy then you could use a different treat that your child enjoys instead such as blueberries, goldfish crackers or raisins.
How To Play
Before you start you’ll need to print out the Don’t Eat The Egg playing sheet, pick either the color or black and white version.
Put a piece of candy on each of the nine squares.
Players take it in turns to be the ‘Eater’ and they have to leave the room while the other players decide together one of the squares to pick.
The ‘Eater’ returns and starts eating (or collecting) the pieces of candy from the squares one by one. The aim of the ‘Eater’ is to eat as much candy as you can!
If the ‘Eater’ selects the candy in the chosen square then everyone else shouts “Don’t Eat the Egg!” and that persons turn is now over.
Replace the candy so that every square has a sweet on it again and a new child (or grown up!) is chosen to be the ‘Eater’.
