Free Easter Basket Template
This template is perfect for getting Easter activities ready in a hurry as all you need to do is print the templates you want, meaning you can spend more time having fun with your child instead.
If you’re working with a group of kids it also means you don’t have to draw out lots of Easter basket’s yourself, much easier!
There are two different designs that you’ll find in this PDF. One has a basic simple design that just shows a blank basket with a bow at the top of the handle.
The other design has a criss-cross pattern on the basket and has three eggs inside the basket. You can print both designs or just choose to print the one you want.
Easter Basket Craft Ideas
This is always a really popular option and it’s one of the simplest things that you can do too. Just grab your coloring pencils, markers and crayons or you could use this as a painting template if you’d prefer.
Printing Easter eggs with potatoes is a classic Easter activity and it’s a really simple one to do as well that would work really well with the plain basket design.
To do potato printing just cut a potato in half with a sharp knife (this part is obviously for adults to do and not kids). So that the paint will stick to the potato I’d recommend placing them for a little while onto some kitchen paper or a clean tea towel to draw out a little of the moisture from the potato.
You can then dip the potato into some paint and use it to make egg shaped prints on your template.
Play dough mat
If you have a some play dough sat at home then using this as a play dough mat is a good excuse to get creative with some simple sensory play! Grab your dough and use it either to make your own egg shapes or color in the ones that are already printed.
You can use different colors to create different designs or add some extra bits to it like buttons, plastic gems, beads or fake flowers to decorate with.
If you’re likely to want to use this as a playdough mat more than once or with more than one child then I would recommend laminating the template before you use it for this.
Design your own Easter eggs
This template is perfect for designing your own Easter eggs. You could add stickers, grab the scissors and glue to try out a mosaic or try drawing a picture onto your eggs like some adorable bunnies, chicks or a carrots.
Use natural materials
Natural materials are always a good choice for kids crafts, especially if you can have a look around for something you can use for free from your own backyard.
Decorate your eggs or basket using leaves, flowers, glass and ferns for a pretty and natural design.
I find that using a regular school glue stick isn’t normally so great for attaching anything with a bit of texture so you might want to opt for PVA (Elmer’s style) glue for this or try using glue dots or double sided tape.
