Free Printable Bird Craft
After the long cold days of winter I’m kind of desperate for something a bit more cheerful which is why I’ve made this cut and paste bird craft so brightly colored!
Of course you could color yours a lot more accurately or sensibly, with a brown body and red chest this could be a great robin craft to make, but sometimes I think it’s nice to make something that’s just there to make you smile.
We’ve shared lots of free spring printables for kids and if you’re looking for an introduction to our cut and paste crafts for your child then this bird craft is a great option as with its larger shapes and one page design.
This would also be a great craft to team with reading a book about spring or about birds and you could look through a book of birds together to get inspiration for decorating your printable.
Supplies Needed
- Cut and paste bird craft PDF
- White paper or cardstock
- Scissors
- Glue
- Colored markers, coloring pencils or crayons
How To Make Your Bird Craft
Start by printing your bird craft PDF onto white paper or cardstock. Both are fine for this craft, I’ve used normal white printer paper for my bird but if you want to make yours a bit more durable then opt for cardstock instead.
Color in all the different parts of your bird.
Using your scissors, cut out all of the birds parts. You’ll find a dotted line around each of them to help guide you.
Glue your bird’s tail feathers, breast, eye and beak onto the front of your bird’s body.
Glue your bird’s legs onto the back of their body so that they stick out underneath.
Stick your bird’s wing onto their body so that it is partially overlapping their tail. Your finished bird craft is now ready to display!

Instructions
- Print the bird craft PDF onto white paper or cardstock.
- Color in all the parts of the bird.
- Cut all off the pieces out.
- Glue the tail, breast, eyes and beak onto the front of your bird and the legs onto the back.
- Glue the wing onto your bird to complete it.
