Christmas Pudding Template
Do you like Christmas pudding? To be honest I’m not a huge fan but for some of my family it’s not considered Christmas unless Christmas dinner is finished with a Christmas pudding for desert!
Christmas puddings are a really good shape for inspiring kids activities, they’ve got a nice basic design without too much detail making them perfect for preschoolers and toddlers and they’re instantly recognisable.
The different colors in the pudding also mean that you can have some fun with the paints creating different effects, get all of those different bits of fruit and texture in there.
What Is Christmas Pudding?
Christmas pudding is a classic Christmas dessert similar to a fruitcake and filled with raisins, lemon and orange peel and mixed spices. You can serve it with double cream poured over the top.
Christmas Pudding Craft Ideas
Coloring
All of our templates are perfect for coloring and it’s great as an activity that requires almost zero set up time and is normally really popular with kids too. Just print out your design and grab some markers, coloring pencils or crayons.
Sponge Painting
Grab a sponge and pour a little bit of paint onto a plate or tray and then dab your sponge into the paint before dabbing it all over your Christmas pudding to color it in.
Obviously brown is going to be your main color here but don’t forget to add some black, yellow and orange too if you have them for the dried fruits.
Sponge painting also gives a really nice texture to your craft which should look especially good on this template.
Tissue Paper
Use colored tissue paper squares glued onto your template to color it in or for a more 3D effect scrunch the tissue paper palls into balls before sticking it down.
Not sure which one to try? Why not glue brown tissue paper squares onto your Christmas pudding and then scrunch up small ball of black tissue paper to glue down for raisins or currents?
Play Dough Mat
Print your template out and laminate it or place it inside a clear plastic wallet and you can use it as a playdough mat. Roll red playdough into balls for your holly berries, add green for the holly leaves, white for the sauce and see what colors you can swish into the brown playdough for the dried fruits.
Cotton Balls
Unroll cotton balls and glue them onto the top of the Christmas pudding to make it’s sauce.
