Design Your Own Ugly Christmas Sweater Or Christmas Jumper
What with Christmas on the way my kids have been getting full use out of their Christmas sweaters, no lie – my son has been rocking his Star Wars themed one since Halloween.
I guess kids really like to go big when it comes to Christmas!
We’ve already tried out these templates at home so I can confirm that they worked really well as a nice quiet time activity for my daughter while I was fixing dinner (because we all need activities like that sometimes, right?)
She created a couple of designs using markers and stickers but I’m sharing a few ideas below for different materials that you could use.
You can print as many copies of these templates as you like, either of all the pages or just of the Christmas sweaters that you want so they make a good activity for preschools or in a classroom too.
You could even have a competition for the best Christmas sweater design and the finished holiday sweaters would look great on classroom bulletin boards.
As you can design your own sweater for the holiday season or use the ones that are already designed it’s a great resource for kids of all ages from toddlers and preschoolers to getting tweens to plan their own ugly Christmas sweaters, just adapt it according to your child’s age and interests.

Christmas Sweater Craft Ideas
There are loads of ways that you can decorate your Christmas sweater and they’re perfect for using as part of a festive art lesson in classrooms or preschools as well as at home.
For a great open ended craft you might find that you just want to pop a load of craft supplies like sequins, glitter and markers on your table and see what fun ways to use them your child come up with, but if you need some inspiration to get you started why not try some of these?
For these crafts you can either print your print your template onto paper or you might want to use cardstock instead if you will be gluing a lot of things onto it.
You could also try using different colored paper for example a light blue if you want to add some white paint for snow.
Coloring
These designs are perfect as Christmas sweater coloring pages, just grab your crayons or markers and get started!
Recycled Cards
Take some inspiration from your recycling bin! Cut out interesting parts of old Christmas cards and glue them onto your sweater.
You can stick with just doing this as an excuse to use the scissors and glue or decorate all around your cut out pictures – how about adding some snowflakes?
Stickers
These can be great on their own or again you can use them to help inspire more creativity.
Buttons
Again a good one to glue on, obviously if you are doing this craft with young children then make sure that they are supervised if you are using small parts.
Pom Poms
These can either be glued on or you can dip them in paint to decorate your sweater.
Photos
Why not cut out a photo of your child’s face and stick it onto your jumper. They could then add some festive bits like a Santa hat.
