A Month of Fun Autumn Activities for Kids

Updated on by | 6 Comments

I love autumn, maybe it’s because it’s when my birthday is (you do that too, right?), maybe it’s the changing colours or the excuse to live in a cardigan (pretty much my life anyway) but it is basically awesome. Last year I wrote up a list of advent calendar activities for kids and as I love the idea of making an effort to do something fun with the kids everyday I’m today sharing a month of fun autumn activities for kids.

Of course, you don’t need to do something every day (please don’t feel like you have to go foraging if you break your leg or something!) but it’s a great way to encourage yourself to celebrate and enjoy the seasons with your kids.

Colour Mixing Pumpkin Activity

Updated on by |

This mess free colour mixing pumpkin activity is perfect for kids and for parents. Why? Well it’s great for kids because it’s fun to play with and it helps teach about making colours and mark making and it’s great for parents because it’s mess free! This mess free pumpkin is similar to the mess free autumn tree we made last year so if you like mess free activities for kids it’s worth checking that one out too!

Movable Leaves Autumn Tree Craft

by | 1 Comment

Last week I was set the challenge of coming up with an autumn craft that kids could do while on holiday and after a couple of attempts I’ve come up with this autumn tree craft that requires no paint or glue! Having spent quite a few holidays in cottages with my own kids I know what it’s like to try and have a bit of quiet time with them while also being mindful that you want to keep your holiday home nice. My four year old made this craft alongside me so she’s been my tester on the mess front for it!

60 Free Activities to do with your Preschooler

Updated on by | 5 Comments

With the summer holidays now upon us I thought it would be a good idea to share some ideas of things to do with your preschooler for free. If you have a preschooler you’ll know how the holidays suddenly mean that your go to places are either closed (parent and child groups, children’s centre) or absolutely rammed full of ‘big kids’ (oh my days have you been to soft play in the holidays? It’s carnage!) Having two kids myself – one preschooler and one school age I’m sure that most of these activities are suitable for older kids too and there’s enough suggestions that you should be able to find a few ideas no matter what the age of your kids or what they are into.
