What You'll Find on This Page
Build a Fox Craft
I love foxes, I always think of them as being woodland or forest animals but in truth we used to have a family of them who frequently visited our garden when we lived in a city and I used to spend a lot of time watching them.
In fact I just looked up what the collective term is for a group of foxes and apparently it’s a skulk which I rather like!
Foxes are ideal for fall crafts and they’re an animal that is easily recognisable for most kids.
This simple one page design is easy and quick to set up and is relatively mess free to make, you just need scissors, glue and coloring materials but there’s no paint to clean up afterwards.
You can also print as many copies as you like so it’s great as a preschool or classroom activity as well as for making at home on a chilly fall day.
This cute fox craft would make a great ‘F is for fox’ craft or you could make it alongside reading the Roald Dahl book ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’.

More Fox Craft Ideas for Kids
We love foxes so it’s no surprise that there’s quite a few fox printables and crafts on this site.
Our free fox template is perfect for younger kids, you can use it for easy crafts such as our leaf fox or it makes a great coloring page too.
You’ll also find an arctic fox in our arctic animals cut and paste craft along with a narwhal, polar bear and plenty more winter themed animals.
Supplies Needed
- Fox craft printable
- White paper or cardstock
- Scissors
- Glue
- Colored markers, pencils or crayons
How To Make Your Fox Craft
Print your fox craft template onto white paper or cardstock. I’ve used normal white printer paper to create my fox but if you want something a little sturdier then go for cardstock instead.

Color in the different parts of your fox. You might want to leave their chest white as well as their face to show the difference against their red fur.

Use scissors to cut out all the parts of your fox craft, you’ll find a dotted line around each part to help guide you.

Glue your fox’s front legs onto their main body and then glue on their hind leg paws and their tail.

Next glue the bib onto the fox’s body.

Finally stick the fox’s face onto their body and glue their inner ears, eyes and nose onto their face to finish your craft.

How To Adapt This Fox Craft
While I’ve made this as a traditional woodland fox craft by changing the way you color it in you could use it for different crafts too.
You could color your fox in grays and whites (or don’t color it at all!) to create an arctic fox craft that’s perfect for winter.
If you’re a fan or Dr Seuss you could turn this into a fox in socks craft by coloring in the bottom of your fox’s feet blue to look like they are wearing blue socks.
More Free Printable Animal Crafts
We have loads of free printables on Crafts on Sea and animal crafts are definitely a favorite of mine! These three activities are all ones that I think would go well alongside our fox craft, perhaps as part of a woodland animals or fall animals theme.
Our hedgehog template is a great one for hands on crafts and I particularly like this paper hedgehog craft which is a great way to practice scissor skills too.

Our cut and paste owl craft is another one page design, making it a great choice for younger kids.

Finally our cut and paste spider craft is a good choice for Halloween as well as fall and the free template comes with a spiders web for you to glue them on to as well.
