I think that crafting with your kids is a great way to get into the holiday spirit together and you don’t have to spend tons of money in order to make some special memories, just pop the Christmas songs on, open those Christmas chocolates and get started!

Ideas For Using Your Free Gingerbread House Printable
Coloring
Print out your favorite template and you’re ready to start coloring! All you need to use these as a gingerbread house coloring page is to add is some markers, crayons or coloring pencils and you’re ready to get started.
Paper Mosaic Craft
Use paper mosaics to create a a super easy paper gingerbread house craft for kids!
Mosaics are a great way to practice using scissors and a good way to use up any scrap paper that you have lying around as well as card stock, thin cardboard and paper bags.
If your kids have brought home any kind of Christmas catalogues (and mine can’t get through December without grabbing a couple) then look through this for items that you can cut out.
Sweets are obviously perfect and you could cut out round shapes for jelly tots but look out for pictures of Christmas trees or ornaments that you could add too, this is a fun one for putting your own spin on it and using a bit of creativity.
Sticker Decoration Craft
I always seem to pick up Christmas stickers each year and then wonder what on earth I’m going to do with them!
Color in one of the less detailed paper gingerbread house templates and then use Christmas stickers to decorate it.
In the past we’ve used candy canes, snowflakes and even Nutcracker dolls, all of which would be a great addition as well as stickers being a good way to help support fine motor skills as well.
Playdough Mat
Pop your template into a clear plastic wallet or self laminating pouch and then decorate your gingerbread house using playdough.
If your home is one that mixes all the playdoh colors together normally (and mine is) then this is a good way to finally get some use out of all that brown play dough!
Of course you can use white for some snow and red, green, blue and yellow for all your other sweets too.

Tips For Printing The Template
If you’re using this as a coloring sheet then plain printer paper is going to be your best bet but if you choose a craft that is going to use a lot of paint or glue then I’d recommend opting for white cardstock instead as this stops it getting quite so saturated with liquid.
Want to use this as a playdough mat? Either pop this into a clear plastic wallet or laminate it so that it can be used again.
