Isn’t this paper plate rabbit twirler the cutest?! we love sharing paper plate crafts because they’re so easy to make and cheap to create too and this sweet little rabbit is perfect for spring or Easter crafting. As this is a paper plate twirler it’s a great way for your kids to practice their scissor skills and they get a cute decoration that they can hang up or play with too – we loved making ours ‘bounce’ around the room!

This rabbit craft is so easy and fun to make – as soon as my daughter saw the one I’d made she had to make one for herself and had loads of fun playing with it afterwards too. :Like this craft? Make sure that you bookmark this page or pin an image so that you don’t forget about it, plus keep reading for some fabulous rabbit books for kids and some easy rabbit crafts your child can make.
Start this craft by grabbing a paper plate and some kid-friendly scissors and then cut a spiral shape into your paper plate, leaving enough room in the middle too add your rabbit’s head later.
Because you’ll want to be able to play with or hang up your paper plate rabbit to display the next step is to add some yarn or string. Turn the paper plate over and tape the yarn to the centre of the plate so that you are able to pull the middle of your plate up and down.
Next cut the rabbits head and paws out from some white card, if you’re making this craft with younger kids then they might need a hand with this part or you could always draw the shapes onto the card first so that they have a line to follow. Once this is done it’s time to grab the pens and draw on the face and pink paws. I’ve used these pens as they layer colours really well over each other.
To stick the face and paws onto the paper plate I’ve used double sided sellotape as it’s a bit more durable than normal glue – helpful if your rabbit is likely to be bouncing all over the place!
Rabbit Books for Kids
I love sharing stories with my kids and these rabbit themed books all look like great fun, which would your child enjoy?
- Big Bad Bun by Jeanne Willis – my kids love this story about a rabbit who get’s a terrible school report
- The Rhyming Rabbit by Julia Donaldson – another current favourite round our house, a beautifully illistrated book about a rabbit and their love for poetry.
- Rabbit’s Nap by Julia Donaldson – another Julia Donaldson one but we loved this book so much it got read until it finally fell apart from over-use. A cute lift-the-flap book perfect for younger kids.
