This under the sea scavenger hunt is perfect for making learning about the oceans more fun!
Scavenger hunts are a great activity to do with kids as they can help make any activity a bit more fun! They’re something that I do quite regularly with my own children as I know they like a bit of a challenge to keep things interesting.
This under the sea scavenger hunt has been designed so that you can use it either at home or school to learn a bit more about our oceans looking through books to find the items on the list or you could use it as an aquarium scavenger hunt and look for the items listed as you go around the aquarium.

Under The Sea Scavenger Hunt For Kids
While this scavenger hunt is about things you’ll find in the sea it’s not so much one for the beach as it’s unlikely that you’ll see a shark on a beach trip, it would be an amazing sight but potentially also a rather stressful one!
Because I don’t know exactly what will be in your local aquarium or the books in your library I’ve kept the list of things to look for to quite common things that you might find. I’ve also often listed the species (eg ray) rather than the specific creature such as a stingray or a undulate ray to make it more likely that you will be able to find one of each thing.
Although of course you don’t need to find everything, it’s just fun to look for them!
You’ll also find three open ended questions at the end of the scavenger hunt to give your child some extra things to look for and think about.
