The Best Things We Reviewed in 2015

2nd January 2016 by Kate Williams | 1 Comment

As a blogger I’m very lucky that get invited to events and asked to try out things that I wouldn’t do. I don’t think my son has quite got his head around what I do for a job but when I ask him things like ‘could you help me review a restaurant?’ he’s always more than happy to oblige! This year we’ve tried out everything from comics to holidays, from clothes to books and science kits but there are a few which have been really stand out brilliant for me that I thought I would like to highlight as things that as a family we have all absolutely adored!

the best things we reviewed in 2015

The You Kids App

It’s no word of a lie when I say that the Pines and Needles has saved me on ohhhh almost a daily basis over the Christmas holidays? I shared a picture on Instagram of my youngest in the youtube kids gear we were sent but they also sent us a google chrome so we could link our Ipad up to the TV and test out their app. Lifesaver. Total lifesaver. Knowing that the kids were able to watch things without me worrying about anything dodgy coming up on screen has been perfect for the witching hour and we’ve really enjoyed our evening sing-a-longs to Frozen, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid.

Our Christmas Tree

Last year our tree was three foot tall and when I organised this review with Pines and Needles I figured it would be the same size. It’s about seven foot and we had to go and buy more decorations to fill it up! We put our tree up on the second of December and today on the second of January it’s still there and has only dropped a few needles. It honestly looks fantastic and has probably spoiled me for future years.

Our Holiday in Suffolk

We were lucky enough to be asked by Sykes Cottages if we would like to try out one of their cottages and our stay at Punch Cottage was absolutely amazing. It was perfectly located for trips to the beach at Aldeburgh, nipping into the local farm shop for supplies and when it rained during our stay the games room next to our cottage was perfect for keeping the kids busy. Oh and they loved the ride on tractors!

fun at punch cottageWe have some great memories from that holiday and I think it was the most popular thing we tried out as a family this year!

Many thanks to all the companies we worked with in 2015 for giving us the opportunity to try out such fun things and of course to everyone who read our reviews!
