Build a Wreath Activity for Thanksgiving
A little while ago we shared a fall wreath craft and it was so popular that we thought we’d add to our Thanksgiving printables collection with this printable Thanksgiving wreath.
The cut and paste design mean that it’s a great way for kids to practice their coloring and scissor skills but most importantly it’s fun, looks super sweet and would make excellent an excellent Thanksgiving decoration too.
Our printable PDF contains four pages, the first is the wreath outline while the second page contains all of the Thanksgiving themed items that you can see in the version that I’ve made.
The final three pages are of leaf shapes that you can add to your wreath if you wish. For a quicker craft you can print these directly onto colored paper and if you want to use this as a gratitude wreath then you could ask your child to think about things that they are thankful for that they can write onto their leaves.
As usual you can also print as many copies of the PDF as you like so if you want to make this as a classroom activity with each child making their own wreaths then you are most welcome to do so.

Step-by-Step: How To Make Your Paper Thanksgiving Wreath
Start by printing our the PDF template onto white paper or cardstock. I’ve used normal printer paper for my version but if you’ll be hanging yours up you might like to choose cardstock to make it a little more sturdy.
Don’t forget that you don’t need to print out the additional pages with the fall leaves on them unless you want to.
Color in the wreath and all of the Thanksgiving themed items that you’ll be using to decorate it.
For this craft I’ve just used the items included on the second sheet of the printable so that you can see how it looks but of course you can use all of the printable leaves too.

TIP – If you are pressed for time and don’t want to color in the wreath itself then you can either leave it blank or print that page directly onto colored paper instead.
Using scissors cut out the wreath and all of the items, you’ll find a dotted line around each of them to help guide you.

Put a little bit of glue on the back of each Thanksgiving item and then glue them onto your wreath shape. I found it easiest if I glued on the largest items first to ensure that I had room for everything.
TIP – Leave the ‘Happy Thanksgiving’ ribbon to last so that you can glue this across the bottom of your wreath. I normally place the sign onto the wreath so that I don’t glue any of my items onto the same area but I don’t glue it on there until I have everything else in place.
Finish your Thanksgiving wreath my gluing your turkey onto the middle of your ribbon.

If you would like to hang your wreath up then you can make a loop of yarn or string through the top of your craft or sticking the loop to the back of the wreath.
