We love doing a bit of Valentines Day crafting together and so my daughter and I made this easy mosaic heart craft.
She made these aged four so this makes them great heart crafts for preschoolers as it’s a fun way to practice scissor skills and they’d make a great decoration to go on front of a card too – which is exactly what my daughter decided to to afterwards!

Apple crafts are a great way to get kids excited about the change in season and they’re a great way to help them get them excited about healthy food too.
This apple suncatcher craft is a great cutting activity for preschoolers – I made these with my daughter who was three at the time and they’re great for kids to be able to display their artwork afterwards.
These would also be really good if you are doing a fruit and vegetable theme and as we love to match up a craft with a snack it’s a great excuse to eat some apples too!

No matter what the season is nature crafts for kids are always a good idea and they’re the perfect excuse to get outside too. You can look for leaves and pine cones in fall, flowers in spring or summer and even in winter when things seem a bit thin on the ground you can always go and do a bit of rock hunting.
Like most parents I try to encourage a love of nature in my kids and I think that getting hands on with nature is the best way to do this.
It’s also a lot cheaper to use a pine cone you found in your backyard to craft with than it is to spend loads of money buying new materials!
All the crafts I’m sharing today use natural materials and are inspired by nature with seashells, rocks, leaves and flowers all taking a centre stage.

We love making nature crafts for kids as they’re a great way to get outside for a nature walk or in your backyard and a super cheap way to find craft materials as well.
This activity was inspired by time outdoors with my daughter, while we were outside she kept wanting to pick flowers and leaves to show me and to make things with (I had a lot of leaf ‘ice creams’) which got me thinking about other ways we could use her new found treasures.
Using our free tree template seemed the obvious answer, making a great starting place for a nature inspired craft activity.
