Rain Boots Template
Rain can be one of those things that you love or hate, but while it can stop you going out and having fun sometimes there’s also nothing quite like putting on your rain boots and going and splashing in puddles!
These printables are perfect for when you’ve finished having fun outdoors and want something to do indoors instead.
There are two different designs that you can download. One is a basic rain boot outline (or wellies as they are called in the UK) and one has a little more detail at the top and bottom of the boots.
All you need to do is print out the design that you would like and of course you can print as many copies as you like making it perfect for preschools, kindergartens and classrooms too.
Rain Boots Craft Ideas
Coloring – Always the most simple activity to set up and one that you are likely to have the craft supplies for already. Coloring is normally enjoyed by kids of all ages (and adults too!) and kids can also design their own rain boots if they would like. All you need to do is grab some crayons, markers or coloring pencils and you can get started.
Painting With Rain – This is a really fun technique that we used for our umbrella rain craft, you just need to follow the instructions in that tutorial and use your rain boot template instead! As your art is likely to become very wet during this craft you may find that it’s better to print your PDF on to card stock instead to stop it becoming over saturated.
Stickers – Use themed stickers or plain stars or dots to decorate your boots for a simple activity that’s good for fine motor skills too.
Add Some Rain – Use cotton buds, cotton balls or fingers dipped in blue paint and dabbed onto your picture to add some rain drops to it.
Torn Paper – Tear up pieces of scrap paper or construction paper to glue onto your picture to decorate it. My kids always enjoyed using torn paper for crafts like this because it feels vaguely destructive but it’s also a really fun way to use up any scraps of colored paper or card that you have nestled at the back of your craft supplies or any colored paper that you have waiting to be recycled.
