Spring Game

I don’t know about you but for me spring always feels like the most cheerful and hopeful of the seasons and after a long cold winter I’m always excited to get started with some fun spring activities.

I think that our spring game shares this cheerfulness with its rainbows, tree full of blossom and of course all of our spring animals – aren’t the ducklings cute!

As a two player game this activity is perfect for you to play at home with your kid or you can print these out for classrooms for kids to play against each other.

It’s quick to prepare and once you’ve downloaded the PDF file you really only need the most basic of materials plus of course that makes it super cheap to play too!

What Materials Do I Need To Play?

  • Spring game PDF
  • Two pages of white printer paper
  • Marker pens

How To Play Our Spring Treasure Hunt Game

Let’s start by getting our game ready by printing the PDF file onto white paper or cardstock, you’ll need two copies so that each player has one.

Each player needs to then mark on the second image where they are going to hide their ladybug. You can do an X for this or you can draw a little ladybug into the box. Now fold over your piece of paper so that your opponent can’t see where you’ve hidden it.

Take it in turns to try and guess where your opponent’s ladybug is hidden. You could ask questions like ‘Is your ladybug in the same square as a frog?’ or ‘Is the rainbow in the same square as your ladybug?’.

When it’s your turn to guess where your opponent’s ladybug is hiding make sure that you record their answers on the matching picture at the top of the sheet, so if they say that their ladybug isn’t in a square that also has a frog in it then put as X through any squares that the frog is in. This will help you decide what question to ask next.

If you think you know where your opponents ladybug is hiding then instead of asking a question as above you can give the grid reference and ask if the ladybug is there.

The first person to guess where their opponents ladybug is hiding is the winner.

Worried you’ll forget this? Don’t worry, you’ll find the instructions written on the printable too.

If you’d like to play this game again and don’t want to keep printing the download then you could laminate the two pages and use a dry-erase marker with them.

More Free Spring Printables

I’ve shared loads of free spring printables to help you have fun with your kids throughout the season, whether that’s at home or in a classroom.

From basic templates perfect for coloring and art projects to bingo cards and activity sheets there’s loads to inspire your creativity and curiosity, these are just a few of my current favorites!

With the weather getting warmer I love any excuse to get my kids outside and this outdoor scavenger hunt is one that was a huge hit with my children.

You can choose from UK or US spellings (garden or backyard) and there’s loads of items to look from including leaves, snails and clouds.

Our cut out crafts are always popular and I love this fun spring cut and paste craft that kids can color, all you need to do is print out the PDF and grab your scissors, glue and coloring materials.

Finally our spring I spy game is one of the newest free printables that we’ve added to our collection and kids can color and count up each of the themed items as they find them with bees, flowers and raindrops amongst others.
