My kids really enjoyed the celebrations at a local street party that took place for Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee and it’s a great excuse to go and have fun with people in your local neighbourhood or just at home or in your classroom or preschool – we’ll definitely be getting the scones and cucumber sandwiches out!
Across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland there will also be an extra bank holiday taking place on Monday 8th May to allow everyone to join in.

Supplies Needed
- Bunting PDF printed onto paper or cardstock
- Colouring pencils, felt tip pens or crayons
- Scissors
- String or ribbon
- Tape
How To Make Your Coronation Bunting
Start by printing out the template, for a more sturdy bunting it’s best to print it onto white cardstock but if you are just putting these up at home or in a classroom then using normal printer paper is fine. There are two bunting flags on the PDF so make sure that you print enough pages out for the area that you want to decorate.
Colour in your bunting shapes. Felt tip pens will give brighter colours than crayons or colouring pencils but go with whatever you have available.
You will need red and blue to colour in the Union Jack but you can colour in the Coronation themed bunting in whatever colours you like.
Using scissors carefully cut out the bunting shapes along the lines and then fold them along the dotted lines.
Take a long piece of string or ribbon and place it at the back of the bunting template at the fold. Fold the tab over and secure it using glue.
If possible I would recommend using sticky tape rather than PVA glue or a glue stick for this as it will secure it into place instantly. I’m also a really big fan of double sided tape as you can use this on the inside of the tab so that it doesn’t show.
Attach as many bunting flags as you like onto your ribbon and it’s ready to be displayed.
