I love this simple Christmas lights craft, depending on what you have around the house you could use Duplo or Lego but Duplo is great for little hands to hold and the ‘lights’ in it are a good size too. This a really simple Christmas craft to set up for your kids and I’ll be sharing a few other Christmas lights crafts with you too if they pick up a bit of a momentum on it!

Green card

Duplo or Lego
Paints
Plate
Let’s make it
Start by cutting your Christmas tree shape out of green card. Older kids might be able to do this themselves but younger kids might need a bit of a hand or you might want to do it for them. Choose your paints and put them onto a plate – having a nice flat surface makes it a lot easier to do stamping. Next up choose your Duplo, we don’t have much of it in the house as my daughter wanted Lego to keep up with her brother so the bits we do have are pretty much used for crafts and sensory play now. I do rather fancy this Duplo Christmas set though!
Stamp your Duplo into your paint, if you want to get any excess off just do an extra stamp on the plate, and then stamp it onto your Christmas tree to make some Christmas lights. Unless you do different paints on different plates then it’s likely that your colours will get a bit mixed up but I figure this is a good way to teach about colour mixing!
Once your paints are dry you could also colour in the lights if you like using felt tips or maybe some gold and silver pens.

I love this idea! Duplo and Lego are just so versatile aren’t they? This is such a nice craft fro youngsters to do this Christmas. I think I’ll use this when I’m babysitting my niece and nephew next
