Advert. It will be no big shock to anyone that we love all things handmade here, my kids do a lot of creating and when I get the chance I like to do a bit of embroidery or sewing. Amazon Handmade asked me if I’d like to check out a few of their gorgeous items from Amazon Handmade that are perfect for a personalised Christmas and I was really excited about seeing what their creators would come up with especially as independent sellers on a big platform which is what I’ve done in the past!
Before I started Crafts on Sea my husband and I ran an online bookstore for several years. We tried going to bookfairs but our income from them was awful, there was one place that we made the majority of our income from though and that was Amazon handmade so I know that from a small business point of view Amazon Handmade have personally been for me an amazing way to reach thousands more people than I could have done otherwise. I love buying handmade gifts as I know the joy it brings the people who created them when the order is received and I think items like this, thought out and planned are lovely to receive as well.
Christmas is all about family and it’s lovely to have some personalised items at Christmas to use as keepsakes. This beautiful personalised bauble by Dilly Dally Designs will make a lovely gift for my husband and it’s something that we can use year after year. It would be a lovely way to commemorate a first Christmas or first year as a married couple too.
Living far away from the rest of our family we’re all really pleased that my dad and step mum will be visiting us this year and these personalised Christmas mini jute bags by Perfect Personalised Gifts are going to make fantastic table settings that I know they’ll adore. I think I might pop a couple of chocolate coins inside ours too, something I know my kids will love and a much nicer treat at the table than something that’s fallen out of a cracker!
My final gift was this gorgeous kit for cross stitching a festive little sausage dog by Little Beach Hut Cross Stitch Design. I love cross stitch because it’s so easy and doesn’t require me fighting with my sewing machine and I’m really tempted to keep it for myself but I know my step mum would like it as she’s a big fan of cross stitch – maybe I could pop it in her jute bag! I love this gift because not only is it handmade but it’s giving someone else the chance to create something by hand too. Supporting a small business and helping to encourage creativity in others, the perfect way to celebrate Christmas.
