Baby Led Weaning Lunch Ideas

As always with everything baby led weaning I would advise you to use common sense and if you haven’t already read up on choking hazards and foods to avoid giving your baby then make sure you do so.

There are loads of great baby led weaning lunch ideas in this post with ideas including cheesy cous cous bites, bean and veggie nuggets, and tuna and potato cakes. Need more ideas? I’ve got a great round up of family recipes for baby led weaning for you or you can find more baby lead weaning posts at the bottom of this page.

If you want to make sure that you remember all these ideas (and if you have young kids there’s a good possibility your memory isn’t what it used to be) then make sure you bookmark this page or pin the image below so you’ll have all these baby led weaning recipes to hand when you need them.

Our Favourite Buys for Baby Led Weaning

Of course one of the best thing about baby led weaning is that you don’t need to buy specific foods just for your child, but I know that for us a few things that we bought certainly made the process a lot easier!

I loved the Tommee Tippee roll up bibs* as they were brilliant at catching food that was dropped before it hit the floor. My kids would love picking food back out of the pocket too. They’re also really handy for being able to roll up and pop in your bag when you go out.

We had an Ikea antilop high chair which lasted both kids and was brilliant. They’re really cheap and easy to clean too. You can buy the antilop high chair trays on Amazon* and they’re perfect for putting your child’s food on while they eat.

We also loved The Baby Led Weaning Cookbook* and used a ton of recipes from it, I personally found it really helpful to use a cookery book that was specifically for people that were doing BLW that wanted to eat nice family meals still.

I do like these ideas. I usually cooked my son the same dinner as the rest of us, but lunch tended to be a bit of a struggle for inspiration.

Fab ideas! I really enjoy putting together different meals for my baby. I try and introduce a new food to his plate as often as I can, even if he just play with it the first three or four times, he will eventually decide for himself if he likes the food or not.
