Astronaut Craft Ideas
Coloring
Coloring is always a great option for kids as it’s super quick for adults to prepare and it’s something that kids of all ages enjoy doing too.
To use these resources as astronaut coloring sheets just print out your favorite design on to white paper and grab your coloring pencils or colored markers.
Add a Face
Use pencils or markers to draw a face in for your astronaut or to make it more personalised why not use a photo of your child?
Using scissors carefully cut out their face and then glue it into the helmet so that they are wearing the space suit.
This would be a fun way to encourage some creative writing too, where are they and what can they see?
Add a Background
Use coloring materials, stickers or collage to create a background for your astronaut.
You could add yellow star stickers, pictures of aliens cut out from magazines or draw a space ship or planets behind them.
Painted Background
Take some black cardstock or construction paper and use white or yellow paints to add some decoration to it.
A great way to create a sprinkling of stars is to dip a toothbrush in paint and then flick it across your colored paper to give a sprinkles effect. Make sure that your table is properly covered first though!
You could also use cardboard tubes to create circular planet shapes or add some star stickers, using stickers is a great way to support fine motor skills too.
Once your background is complete cut out your astronaut picture and glue them onto your background.
