Printable Birdhouse Craft
This DIY bird feeder for kids to make comes with five different designs to choose from.
There are four birdhouse templates with designs drawn onto them for you with lots of wood and flowers as you can see below and you’ll also find a fifth design left blank so that you can design your own birdhouse.
Craft Supplies
- Birdhouse Craft PDF
- White paper or cardstock
- Scissors
- Glue stick or tape
- Coloring materials – crayons, coloring pencils or colored markers
DIY Birdhouse
Print out the template of the bird house that you wish to make as well as the sheet of birds.
You can print this craft onto either normal white printer paper or white cardstock.
Paper is obviously the cheaper choice and is easier to cut but using cardstock will mean that your birdhouse is sturdier.
Color in your birdhouse and if you wish to color in one (or more) birds then do this too.
Using your scissors cut out your bird and your birdhouse following the guidelines on the printable.
Please note that the door of the birdhouse is likely to need to be cut out by an adult although older children may be able to do this with supervision.
Fold the sides and tabs of the birdhouse as indicated on the printable and fold the roof of the birdhouse in half.
Add a little glue to the tab on the main body of the birdhouse and then fold the sides in, gluing the side down to create a square shape.
Place another small amount of glue on the tabs at the bottom of the birdhouse before folding these inwards. Carefully place the base shape on top of these and then push down gently so that they will stick.
Stick your bird onto the front of your birdhouse and then place the roof on to the top to finish your craft.
