Nativity Scavenger Hunt

I’ve got so many nativity activities to share with you in the lead up to Christmas and I’m really looking forward to helping you share this special time of year with your child!

We’ve shared a lot of scavenger hunt ideas and my favorites are definitely the ones that kids can color in as they find each item, they’re the ones that my kids seem to enjoy the most too. They can also be a fun way to help kids learn about something and they take just minutes to prep and set up.

Older kids will be able to read the words for each thing on the list while the simple pictures help younger children to be involved too.

As you can print out this free resource as many times as you like it’s also helpful if you are doing this with a group, for example in a preschool, classroom, holiday party or at a church event.

How To Use This Scavenger Hunt

There are lots of ways to use this scavenger hunt so use the one that works best for you.

Due to not knowing exactly what you will find I think it’s best to use this just as a fun game rather than that you *have to* find everything – there are obviously certain things on the list though which everyone can expect to find in any version of the Christmas story.

Listen To The Bible Story

If your child is old enough to listen to the bible story then why not have them color each item as it is mentioned?

Look Through a Nativity Book Together

If your child is younger or learns better through looking at things and not just hearing why not look at a book together about the nativity story and at each page you could look for items listed in the printable, coloring each one in as the turn up in the story.

Hunt For Nativity Scene Figurines

If you have a nativity scene at home or in your classroom or Sunday School you could hide each of the nativity ornaments and have your kids look for them.

They can color each item as they find it and put all the figurines together to build the nativity scene.

What Do You Need For This Scavenger Hunt?

All you need for this nativity scavenger hunt is a copy of the PDF itself printed onto white paper or cardstock and some crayons, marker pens or coloring pencils to color it in with.
