Did you know that October 5th is World Teachers Day? I must admit that it’s a new one to me but having read up on it this week I love the idea of it! The day is organised by UNESCO (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) and has the slogan ‘Invest in the future, invest in teachers’. Of course when you think about it it makes massive amounts of sense to invest in teachers across the world, after all, if someone doesn’t have the right training or resources how can they properly support others to learn? So in celebration of World Teachers Day I’m sharing with you some fabulous craft ideas to show a teacher you care as well as details on how you could win flowers and chocolates for your favourite teacher!
What You'll Find on This Page
Downloadable Thank You Card
Want to thank someone? Make it easy and download this card from EdPlace and let someone know you care!
Win Them Some Flowers
Flowers and chocolates to be exact! Primary and Secondary school children are invited to share the card EdPlace’s card on twitter or on the EdPlace Facebook page using the hashtag #thankyouteacher (obviously using parents accounts for the younger kids!) for the chance to win flowers and chocolates for their nominated teacher. There will be five prizes made and the full details are on EdPlace’s website.
Make a gift for your teacher to show them you care
Thankfully here in the UK working conditions are a lot better than they are in some other countries, although with several friends that are teachers I know it’s still a really challenging job! To celebrate World Teacher Day why not show a teacher you appreciate the work that they do by making them one of these cute gifts?
This free printable is great for making superhero chocolate bars!
All teachers need more supplies! I love this glue stick wreath.
This pencil holder looks great fun for kids to paint.
This Sharpie bouquet is practical and pretty.
Kids would love making this fun teacher appreciation gift, and eating a few of the sweets too!
I love this fun crayon monogram craft.
