Free Camping Tent Template
As a family we love camping so I know that these are designs that will appeal to my own kids as well. I think that spending time outdoors is a great way to encourage kids imagination and with three different designs you should hopefully be able to find the image that’s perfect for your project.
The first design is the most basic with just an outline of the front of a tent on it. The second gives some more details to this design and the third image shows a side view of a tent.
You can get these templates at the bottom of this page by subscribing the free Crafts on Sea newsletter, we won’t spam you and you can unsubscribe at any time – we do send lots of printables like this though which are perfect for keeping your kids entertained.
Camping Tent Craft Ideas
Coloring
Coloring is normally the quickest and easiest activity to set up for kids and it’s normally one that’s pretty popular with them too so it’s an all round win! Grab your markers, coloring pencils, crayons or paint and you’re good to go.
Add Yourself
Why not add yourself into the tent either with a drawing or a photograph? This would work well with either of the two templates that show the front view of the tent.
For the more detailed version you could just draw a picture or cut out a photo with scissors and glue it on while for the more basic template you could cut the tent shape itself out and make a cut up from the bottom of the tent in the centre, you can now fold these parts back to look like tent flaps! Glue the template onto another piece of paper or cardstock and add your photo or drawing to the inside of the tent.
Add the Background
Use your template as a drawing prompt and add some background to it. Are you camping at the woods or at a beach? Is the weather sunny or cloudy?
Collage
Make a scene with your tent using different materials. How about cutting tree shapes out of green cardstock or adding some aluminium foil for some water? Stickers can also be great for this, why not look for some star stickers so you could add a night sky?
More Camping Crafts for Kids
We love sharing camping crafts for kids as they’re a great way to get them excited about spending time outdoors. This foil painted campfire craft is so easy to create and it’s great to see the colors mixing as you paint it too.
Or how about making these camping story stones? You can use them to help encourage your children’s storytelling or use them as painted rocks to hide.
This template would also go perfectly with our free printable campfire template.
