How to make a skirt from one metre of fabric

Updated on 26th June 2016 by Kate Williams | 4 Comments

I love sewing but I don’t always have loads of time to do it. Also patterns scare me a bit, they look so complicated! This skirt pattern is super simple to follow though because all you need to do is be able to cut in a straight like and use your sewing machine – there really is no pattern to follow! You can make it without using a tape measure and best of all you really can make it from only one metre of fabric.how to make a skirt from one metre of fabric…

How to make a paper gift bag

Updated on 16th December 2019 by Kate Williams | 8 Comments

Advert. Last week I was challenged by the people at wrap.me to make something cool using their gorgeous wrapping paper. I’m a big fan of theirs having used their paper before to cover a notebook and my kids are always super pleased when we get some of their paper through the door, nothing cheers a four year old up as much as the site of their own face in print! As the paper is ultimately designed for wrapping gifts I thought I’d do just that, but instead of just parcelling something up I thought I’d challenge myself to working out how to make a paper gift bag! After a couple of tries I realised it’s actually a lot simpler than it seems so I’ve made a little video so that you can make one too!…

How to Make a Bouquet Out of Baby Clothes

25th June 2015 by Kate Williams | 14 Comments

Sometimes a challenge comes through at just the right time and for us there couldn’t have been a better time to be asked to make a bouquet out of baby clothes. My days with a newborn are pretty much a hazy sleep deprived memory at the moment but my kids are about to welcome cousins into the family for the first time – so exciting! I originally thought I’d be doing this craft on my own but when my four year old son saw what I was doing he wanted to be involved too, this really was a joint effort. This cute craft would be a great baby shower idea or is just a fun gift to make for a mum to be!

The Quickest Way To Make A Cushion Cover

Updated on 18th February 2025 by Kate Williams | 4 Comments

With two small kids the amount of time I get to make things myself is pretty limited. Actually it’s pretty non-existent, so anything I do needs to be made in a matter of minutes or it just isn’t going to happen. Thankfully I’ve got a way to make cushion covers that really can be done super quickly so these really can be whipped up in no time. What’s more this cute material was designed by myself and that was super simple too!
