Split Pin Vampire Craft

My kids love to make Halloween crafts and they’ve always loved playing with them too. Most of the time that’s fine but sometimes with paper crafts things have been known to get torn which is no fun at all.

This vampire craft is designed to be made and played with, with arms and legs that you can move.

You can print as many copies as you like so it’s perfect for making in groups too, whether that’s in a classroom setting or if you have a few kids at home.

Craft Materials

  • Split Pin Vampire PDF
  • Cardstock
  • Split pins
  • Scissors
  • Putty, playdoh, blue tac or similar
  • Colored markers or coloring pencils

How To Make Your Vampire Craft

Start by printing the PDF file onto white cardstock. For many of the crafts on this site I say that there’s a choice between paper or cardstock but for this one I really would go with card or cardstock as paper may be likely to tear once you start moving the vampire.

Color in all of the parts of the craft using colored pencils, crayons or colored markers.

Following the dotted lines around each item, use scissors to cut out each part of your vampire.

Glue the vampire’s head, body and bow tie together.

Now it’s time to make the holes for your split pins. Place the pieces of your vampire with an x mark on them onto some playdough (or something similar) and push the split pin through them at the x point. Pushing the pin into the dough helps to ensure that no one gets hurt.

Once you have made all the holes in your craft, put the pieces together that need to be joined up (eg arms and waistcoat) and push the split pins through both pieces, opening the pin at the back to hold it in place. Don’t forget to glue the sceptre into your vampire’s hand.

Finally glue your vampire into their cloak and it’s ready to play with.
