We’re now full into Christmas mode at our house, there’s no tree up yet as we still have one more birthday before Christmas, but as soon as that’s over it will be going up! In preparation of decorating the Christmas tree we made these cute pom pom Christmas tree ornaments, they were so simple to do, surprisingly cheap and perfect kids to make so I thought I’d share them!
Materials:
Wooden Christmas tree decorations (I got these in The Range for 50p each)
Pom poms (mine are also from The Range)
Glitter glue
How to make your Pom Pom Christmas Tree Ornaments:
I set out the all the materials for my son in advance as this makes it a lot less stressful for all of us and he likes seeing what there is. He needed a bit of a hand with the glitter glue but really enjoyed putting all of the pom poms onto the trees. I think pom poms are a really nice craft material for young kids as they feel nice, they do have a tendency to go everywhere (just found one in my kitchen a week later!) so it’s a good idea to keep them in a bowl to try and do a bit of damage limitation on that front!
So far they seem to be sticking pretty well, but I do know that anything that involves small people has a tendency to break if played with too much so I’m keeping an eye on them and if any of the pom poms start looking loose my plan is to stick them in the same place with a bit of superglue once the kids are in bed. I think these would make a really cute gift for Grandparents too, after all who doesn’t like a cute handmade ornament?!
