We love making nature crafts for kids as they’re a great way to get outside for a nature walk or in your backyard and a super cheap way to find craft materials as well.
This activity was inspired by time outdoors with my daughter, while we were outside she kept wanting to pick flowers and leaves to show me and to make things with (I had a lot of leaf ‘ice creams’) which got me thinking about other ways we could use her new found treasures.
Using our free tree template seemed the obvious answer, making a great starting place for a nature inspired craft activity.

Advert. This coffee filter flower craft is so simple to make and so cheerful too, perfect as a Mother’s Day gift or just for brightening up a room. The colours are perfect for spring!
We used the jumbo test tubes and eye droppers from Learning Resources with this activity, the pipettes are great for helping kids develop fine motor skills and both them and the test tubes are really durable so you can use them for science activities with your child as well as art ideas like this.

This shell suncatcher craft is perfect for summer and with some help can be made by even young children (my kids started making suncatchers when they were toddlers). Shell crafts are always popular (after all who doesn’t love a pretty shell?) and you can make this craft using our free shell template too.
We’ve made lots of suncatchers using cellophane but I think this might be our first tissue paper suncatcher. Both materials are fine to use and as you’ll see this can also be a good craft for using up any scraps of crafting materials that you have.

Looking for a simple but sweet nature craft to do with your child? My daughter and I had so much fun last week making these sweet butterfly nature craft!
It was a great excuse for us to spend some time together out in the garden looking at all the plants and deciding which were our favourites.
We both made a butterfly craft and it was a really nice activity to spend some time together. Using things we found in our garden and our free butterfly template also mean that that was a really cheap activity too.
