Bonfire Night Desserts: Firework Chocolate Bark

Updated on 29th October 2025 by Kate Williams | 3 Comments

This week we’ve been making some super tasty bonfire night deserts and we ended up with a bit too much chocolate left over – a tragedy right?!

Of course it would be wasteful to just chuck chocolate away and with dinnertime looming I didn’t want the kids to just eat it all so we quickly made some bonfire night inspired firework chocolate bark.

This is super easy to make and is perfect for a treat while you wait for the fireworks to start!

Family Recipes for Baby Led Weaning

Updated on 24th March 2021 by Kate Williams | Leave a Comment

I love these family recipes for baby led weaning as the great thing about blw is that you can feed your child whatever you’re eating for dinner but the less than great thing is that having a baby doesn’t suddenly fill your head with a million recipe ideas. Spaghetti bolognase again? (We had it again tonight, I feel your pain!)

I’ve shared a lot of stuff about baby led weaning here and today I’m sharing some gorgeous looking family recipes for baby led weaning.

There’s loads of fabulous recipes here but if you need some more inspiration I’ve also shared some of my favourite family recipe books for baby led weaning and if you check out the links at the bottom of this page you’ll also find loads of ideas for baby led weaning dinners as well as ideas for things your kid can eat if they don’t have any teeth yet!

Got a recipe your baby loves that you love too? Tell me about it in the comments as I’d love to share that too.

Updated on 21st February 2020 by Kate Williams | 12 Comments

My friend Rachel Marek makes a brilliant tea loaf, and as she always seems like one of those mums who Knows What They’re Doing, I presumed it would be somewhat difficult to make. Hmm! So earlier this year Rachel went off skiing and I lent her my Out and About buggy for the trip, because quite frankly that thing could survive a nuclear war so baggage handlers and a couple of foot of snow would be no issue at all. Anyway I asked in return for her tea loaf recipe and it turns out its about as difficult to make as a ready meal. Personally, I’m currently making this about once a fortnight, and if I didn’t have to turn up at the office as often I’d probably make it every other day. Its perfect for those among us who like to bake, but for whom life tends to get in the way….
