Along with 30 other bloggers I’m taking part in the Story Book Advent on Rainy Day Mum. We love doing crafts that tie in with the stories we’re reading and for this I thought we’d try to make a glittery Christmas star suncatcher to go with the story Suzy Goose and the Christmas Star.

This week both my kids have been ill so while my daughter slept it off I wanted to do a simple activity with my son that he could still enjoy while feeling a bit under the weather. He adores playdoh so I thought that this rose scented playdough might be a fun introduction to making our own scented ones.

My kids love all Clare Freedman’s Underpants books but I think the alien themed one is probably our favourite, rhyming stories are always a hit with children and anything that might count as slightly rude or cheeky is always a winner with my kids too! These Aliens Love Underpants activities and crafts are loads of fun with alien dressing up ideas, a flying saucer craft, maths activities, easy alien crafts and a cool small world play idea.

Last weeks 6 Stories for Summer was all about The Night Pirates activities and crafts and I have to say it was one of my favorites so far! I love this fab book by Peter Harris.

This week on the Crafts on Sea Facebook page has all been about A Squash and a Squeeze crafts and activities. Julia Donaldson’s book is a lovely story for kids about appreciating what you have and is a massive favourite in our house, telling off the cow for dancing a jig is part of our bedtime routine!
