I must admit that I originally planned these scrunched paper star craft as a New Years Eve activity but my daughter loved making them so much that we’ll probably use them for other times of the year too – after all stars are good for studying space, Fourth of July and of course Christmas too – you could just pop a bit of string through these and they’d be a great kid-made ornament. I’ve also included a free star template for you as it turns out drawing stars freehand was a lot trickier than I expected!
Scrunched Paper Stars Materials
Card
Scissors
Glue
Tissue paper
Let’s make it!
This is a really simple craft but it’s a really nice one for kids too – tissue paper is a lovely sensory material to craft with thanks to the noise and feel of it and this easy craft is good for fine motor skills too.
To make these just print off your star template here onto card and then cut it out (a good way for kids to practice scissor skills too) and then cover your star in glue. tear your tissue paper into strips and then scrunch it up into little balls covering as much of the star as you can.
