Pines and Needles Review: A Great Tree For A Great Christmas

30th November 2017 by Kate Williams | 8 Comments

The same as with most homes at this time of year, Christmas is a very big deal around here. Birthday’s are great but Christmas is the day when everyone gets something and everyone is cheerful, not just your immediate family but friends and other family you see on the day or even the strangers you wish Merry Christmas to when you pass them in the street. The thing that for us really signifies the start of the Christmas build up is when we get and decorate our Christmas tree – once that’s there there’s no denying it’s nearly Christmas and so we were all super excited when Pines and Needles asked if we’d like to review one of their Christmas trees.

Pines and Needles review

Actually this isn’t the first Pines and Needles review we’ve done. Back when we lived in Essex we tested out one of their trees and absolutely loved it. Over the years we’ve tried all sorts of trees, cheap and expensive, fake and real including the year we bought one from a DIY store that dropped most of it’s needles before Christmas – that one was not my favourite! The tree we had from Pines and Needles before was probably the best tree we’ve ever had (and it held it’s needles until the very end!) but I did wonder how it would cope with transporting the tree down to us in Cornwall, not exactly the quickest of journeys for a Christmas tree.

Of course I shouldn’t have worried, it was absolutely fine and is now up in our dining room in all it’s glory. Of course if you don’t live down here in Cornwall you could go and pick your tree yourself, a lovely day trip out for all the family. Pines and Needles habe got nearly 30 Christmas tree stores this year so it’s worth seeing if  there’s one near you. Our tree is so big that I had to go out through a door just to try and capture this snap,  our home is a Victorian period property and a tree as good as this makes our dining room look fantastic.

After school and yesterday we set about decorating our tree which my kids have decided to name Bertie Basset, a bit random but they think it’s hilarious! It was great to see them so excited about it and I can’t remember the last time they left school so quickly without asking to stay and play with their friends, they just wanted to get decorating. The tree looks marvellous and I can’t wait to see their faces as they open their presents from under it this year. A great Christmas deserves a great tree and with Pines and Needles we’ve certainly managed that.

I am still thinking if I will up my Christmas Tree in my home. Haha, Sometimes its a little tedious setting up a Christmas tree but Christmas is incomplete without the tree in one’s home.

We have an artificial tree but we have had a real one and there really is no comparison. As Mel says, just from the lovely smell alone. My only quibble is the eco-factor but I guess as long as the trees are replanted there isn’t too much of an issue.

What a stunning tree. We had a real tree a few years ago but our cats had a field day in it lol I miss the smell of real trees on the home. We do add a real one at the front door which is stunning 🙂
