Paper Bag Witch Craft for Kids

Updated on 2nd October 2021 by Kate Williams | 6 Comments

I love paper bag crafts for kids, they’re the perfect mixture of upcycling, crafting and making something that the kids can play with afterwards! Today’s paper bag craft is no exception with this sweet, umm I mean scary paper bag witch craft for kids.

She might look like she’s friendly but watch out, she’d just as quickly turn you into a toad!

To make your paper bag witch craft you will need

Paper bag (mine are from Morrisons because their cookies are gooooood but you can buy them online here)

Green paper or card

Black card

Glue stick

Black and pink pens

Let’s make it

Start by cutting out your witches hat, if you make the brim quite wide then this allows you to put it on your witches head at a jaunty little angle if you want.

Cut out the hair in long green strips and then glue the hair and the hat onto your paper bag. I find that PVA glue tends to hold better but glue sticks like these set quicker so if you have impatient kids who will want to play with their witch straight away then go with that – after all there’s no fun in a puppet you can’t play with!

Draw on your witch’s eyes, nose and mouth using a black pen and then draw in some cheeks using a pink pen, I use the black sharpie laundry marker for pretty much everything and the pink pen is a chalk pen that from a pack we use for drawing on rocks too.

Finally cut some ‘warts’ out of green paper, glue them on and your paper bag witch is ready to be played with.

What a great idea, a lovely Halloween craft too. I also love the cookies at Morrisons, anything for an excuse to buy them 🙂
