Paper Bag Pirate

Updated on 31st July 2017 by Kate Williams | 3 Comments

We love paper bag crafts for kids and this cute paper bag pirate is super simple to make plus he’s the perfect way to recycle any paper bags you might have around the house. He’s also perfect for using as a simple DIY puppet which means you can play with him and have fun even after your crafting has finished.

Lets make a paper bag pirate

I must admit that I’m a bit obsessed with paper bag crafts at the moment as they’re such a good way to get a second use out of paper bags. You can of course buy some yourself, these ones are on the US Amazon site and these ones are on the UK site. The ones I use are from Morrisons and are from the cookies in their bakery. Obviously as a family we’ve all found it really hard to eat lots of cookies so that we could craft but dedication to the cause and all that!!

Draw a face onto your paper bag using a black pen – I used one of these – and then cut the pirates hat shape out from red card making sure it’s wide enough to stretch from one side of the paper bag to another. The white dots were made using these pens but you could use white dot stickers or finger paints instead.

Make the eye patch using black card and cutting out a semicircle and a thin strip of black card. Glue the eyepatch and the pirates hat onto your paper bag pirate and you’re done and ready to play with it!
