Create Your Own Forest Scene
Woodland or forest crafts are great for any time of the year but I think that they’re especially suited to fall when a lot of us are thinking about trees, leaves and spending a some time outdoors.
This free resource is a great way to encourage creativity in kids and is a fun way to practice coloring and scissor skills while you learn a little bit more about forest animals.
You’ll find an image of the finished craft in the top corner of the printable to give you an idea of how it might look, however apart from the burrow and tree branches which you may like to put in the same place, you can choose where you want to place each of your forest animals and plants meaning that kids can create their own unique forest scene.
Like all of our cut and paste crafts, this printable only requires really basic materials and you can print as many copies as you like, making it perfect for classroom use as well as for a fun activity at home.

Forest Animals Included In This Craft
Our forest animals cut and paste craft is a two page PDF file designed in black and white to make it easy for you to print and so that kids can color it in.
The first page contains all of the forest animals:
- Owl
- Fox
- Squirrel
- Deer
- Woodpecker
- Mouse
- Mole
- Spider
- Rabbit
It also has all of our plants and forest items that you’ll need to create your forest scene, including a tree branch, acorn, underground burrow, fern, fungi, tree stump and pinecone.
The second page is our forest scene background containing lots of grass and trees ready to be colored in.
How To Make Your Forest Animals Craft
Start by printing both pages of the PDF file onto white paper or cardstock.
Color in the forest scene and all of the animals and other items.
Use your scissors to cut out all of the forest items and animals from the first page. You’ll find a dotted line around each item to help guide you.
Start to create your forest scene by gluing your plants and other items onto the background page.
This allows you to have them in place for your animals, for example you will need to stick the underground burrow onto your craft before you can glue the rabbit onto it.
Finish assembling your forest scene by gluing all of your animals into place.

Instructions
- Print both pages of the PDF onto white paper or cardstock.
- Color in the forest scene and all of the items on the first page.
- Cut out all of the items on the first page.
- Glue all of the animals and plants on to your forest scene to complete your picture.
