We love these fun treasure hunt style games and they’re perfect for playing with your child or for a couple of kids to play together. You don’t need any expensive parts, you don’t need to even find a dice. Just print this, find a couple of markers and you’re good to go.

Printable Summer Game
This fun printable summer game is perfect for keeping kids entertained during those long hot summer months and it’s totally free for you to download.
I adore all the cute summer and beach themed items in the picture from the crab sat on the deckchair, to the kids playing in the sea and the seagull perched on a parasol.
Our game is easy to play, quick to set up and you don’t need to purchase loads of expensive materials or download another app to your phone. Exactly what you need when all you really want to focus on is what ice cream to eat next.
Because I know that some people use different words for things you’ll find two designs in the PDF file, one is find the starfish and the other is find the sea star so you can use whichever term your family uses.

- Two sheets of white printer paper
- Marker pen
How To Play Our Summer Game
Start by printing out the PDF file, you’ll need to make two copies of the printable so each player can have a copy and I’d recommend using colored ink rather than printing in black and white.
Each player now need to decide where they’ll be hiding the starfish on their game so on the bottom grid draw your starfish in one of the squares and then fold over the paper so that your opponent can’t see where it’s hidden.
Now it’s time to try and work out where your opponent has hidden their starfish! Take turns to ask questions to try and guess the location, for example you could ask if the starfish is on the sea or if it’s hidden in a sandcastle.
Use the grid at the top to make a note of your opponents answers, for example if they say that the starfish is not in a square with a seagull then put an x in each square that has part of a seagull in it.
Once you’ve narrowed down where you think the starfish might be hidden you can get more specific with your questioning and guess the exact square, for example asking if it’s hidden in C11.
The person who guesses the correct location of the other persons starfish first is the winner.
