Cornucopia Craft For Kids
There’s so much happening during fall to inspire your kids imaginations and creativity but I love these new cornucopia cut and paste printables as it’s such a classic symbol of abundance for this time of year.
Cornucopia crafts are perfect as Thanksgiving crafts to make during November but of course they’re really ideal for the whole of fall when you might be looking at farming topics, harvest and the change of season.
This printable contains two pages for you to download. The first page is filled with items to add to your basket including a pumpkin, corn, grapes, an apple and cranberries as well as some fall leaves and acorns, the second page is of the cornucopia basket itself.
You can print as many pages of the PDF file as you like so it’s great for a rainy day activity to make at home or you can use it as a Thanksgiving classroom activity.
Craft Supplies
- Cornucopia craft PDF
- White paper or cardstock
- Scissors
- Glue
- Colored pencils, markers or crayons
How To Make Your Cornucopia Cut and Paste Craft
To make this craft start by printing out both pages of the PDF file. You can use either normal white printer paper or white cardstock depending on what you have available with paper being easier to cut but cardstock often working better if you want to display this afterwards.
Next you need to color in the basket and all of the items that you’re going to use to fill it with. My daughter helped with the coloring for this and it was a good excuse to discus what color each of the items should be, especially with the leaves which can obviously change during fall.

Next cut all of the items out following the dotted lines around each of them.
Of course you don’t need to include everything but if you want this to look like your horn of plenty is really overflowing then go for it.

Finally add a little bit of glue to the back of each item and glue it onto your basket, either a glue stick or PVA / school glue is fine for this.
You’ll notice in the corner of the printable that there’s an image showing how you might want to design your cornucopia however go with what works for you – we had a couple of tint smudges on the paper so we covered these with the leaves which I think actually gave it a really nice finished effect.
