The level of detail on these designs mean that they’re great for older children although of course you can use them with younger kids too. They make great American flag coloring pages or you can use them to try out some art or craft ideas.
In the PDF pack you’ll find three different designs, the first is just the flag itself while the second design also includes a flagpole and the third design states ‘Color The Flag of The United States of America’. You can print all three or just the one that you want.
To color in your free printable flag you’re going to want to grab your favorite coloring pencils, markers or crayons or you could get out those paints and paintbrushes to color it in.
Want to try out some flag crafts? Make sure you grab your safety scissors and glue sticks too or how about adding some glitter glue to your craft?
If you are using this for crafting then you might find it better to print your flag out onto white cardstock rather than printer paper. It helps stop it becoming saturated with glue or paint and makes it that little bit sturdier.
You could cut out your flag and add some wooden doweling to it for a flag that you can use as part of your decor, try putting a few in a vase or a glass jar or you could use these as placemats for lunch or dinner on 4th of July with a couple of red and blue crayons to keep the kids happy while you eat.

This handprint American flag craft is a great one to create if you’d like a keepsake. I love finding handprint art from when my kids were toddlers or preschoolers so I’m a big fan of these which use handprints in the place of white stars!
This craft also uses sponges for the red and white stripes which are a fun way to paint as well as being great for little hands to hold.
I’m always a fan of paper plate crafts because they’re such a cheap material to use and one that’s easily accessible to most people.
This American flag paper plate craft is a good way to encourage creativity while kids learn the different colors of the American flag.
I love sharing free printables so it’s no surprise that we also have some 4th of July free coloring pages, this is a great activity for quiet time and the designs are good for kids of all ages, you could hang these up as posters afterwards too.
