Moose Template

I’m a big fan of anything that makes doing arts and crafts with kids that bit easier and this simple moose template is perfect if you’re doing some winter crafts for kids learning more about animals.

You can get this template at the bottom of this page by subscribing the free Crafts on Sea newsletter, we won’t spam you and you can unsubscribe at any time – we do send lots of printables like this though which are perfect for keeping your kids entertained!

What Is Included In The PDF?

The PDF consists of two pages both with the same image.

On one the moose is printed in landscape and in the other it’s in portrait, meaning that the size of the moose itself is slightly different.

Just choose to print the template that you’d like to use and of course you can print as many copies as you’d like too, making it really helpful if you work with preschoolers, are in a classroom or have more than one child at home.

Moose Craft and Art Ideas

There are loads of simple ways that you can use your moose template from ideas that will take seconds to set up (grabbing markers) to ones that will take a little bit longer.

I’m sharing some ideas for ways that you can use this PDF but I’m sure that once you get started and have a look through your craft materials or recycling box you’ll come up with plenty more yourself.

Coloring

Coloring is obviously the easiest activity to do and there’s nothing wrong with that. Grab markers, coloring pencils or crayons and use this as a moose coloring sheet. If you don’t mind the prospect of mess then grab the paints out instead!

Resist Art

This activity is the opposite to using stencils and is a great way to create a fun art project. We’ve used it for our squirrel craft which is really popular.

All you need to do is follow the instructions for the squirrel craft but swap the squirrel image for cutting your moose shape out with scissors, then taping it down with washi tape and deciding what material you’d like to use to paint the background.

We like sponges and pom poms for this but you can also use a paint brush if that’s what you have at home.

Mosaic

Cut shapes out of brown construction paper or scrap paper (magazines are good) and glue them onto your moose.

Make a Paper Bag Puppet

Color in your moose and carefully cut it out with scissors. Glue it onto a paper bag with the bags hole facing downwards, you can now pop your hand into it and use it as an easy little DIY puppet!

Moose Books For Kids

We love any excuse to share a book together, whether it’s learning something with a fact book or having a snuggle together while sharing a story. These moose related books all look great – which of them have you tried?
