As the mum of fussy eaters I know that my children are far more likely to want to eat something if it looks fun! I haven’t blogged any food posts for a little while but when I was asked by Brioche Pasquier if I could come up with some fun Christmas snacks for kids then I was definitely up for the challenge and I have to say that I was really pleased with the results! There’s a mixture of sweet and more savory Christmas sandwich ideas here, perfect for a Christmas treat.
What You'll Find on This Page
Cucumber Christmas Tree Sandwich
My daughter is obsessed with both cucumber and Christmas trees so this is a perfect snack for us!
You will need:
2 Slices of Brioche Pasquier Brioche Loaf
Cucumber
Red Grapes
Christmas Tree Cookie Cutter
How to make it:
Cut your cucumber into thin slices and place on one slice of the brioche loaf. Using your cookie cutter cut a Christmas tree shape from the other slice and then place this on top. Slice the ends off red grapes to make red Christmas baubles for your tree.
Kids Christmas Pudding Snack
Christmas pudding tends to be a bit of an adult taste where as chocolate? Yeah my kids love that!
You will need:
2 Slices of Brioche Pasquier Brioche Loaf
Chocolate Spread
Sugar Holly Cake Decorations
Circle Cookie Cutters
Scissors
How to make it:
Cut two circle shapes from your brioche loaf. My cookie cutters went missing at this point so I carefully held a little round storage pot to the bread and cut around that. Cover oe circle in chocolate spread, if it’s a bit hard to spread I put the knife in hot water for a minute and this normally does the trick. Using your scissors cut one of the circles to make the ‘icing’ for the top, pop this on top of the other piece of brioche loaf and put your sugar holly on top.
Christmas Angel Fairy Bread
A traditional Fairy Bread sandwich given a festive twist!
You will need:
2 Slices of Brioche Pasquier Brioche Loaf
Jam
Sugar Ball Cake Decorations
Angel Cookie Cutter
How to make it:
Cover one slice of your brioche loaf in jam and cut an angel shape out of the other. Put them together to make your sandwich and then use your cake decorations to fill in the angel shape.
In collaboration with Brioche Pasquier who also sent me some pan au chocolat, brioche rolls and croissants one morning just as I realised I’d forgotten breakfast. It was an amazing moment!! The rest of the food all got eaten before I got my camera out because my kids put their love of food before my photography requirements, oops!
