Need an excuse to get your kids outside? This free printable nature scavenger hunt is the one for you. It’s perfect for a simple outdoor activity that you can do together or it would work well with groups or in a classroom or preschool too. Plus the drawings are super cute!
We’ve shared loads of scavenger hunt ideas because they’re such great boredom busters for kids. All you need to do is grab as many copies of the printable as you’d like, find a pen or pencil to tick off the items as you find them and get your shoes on and get outdoors.
What You'll Find on This Page
Nature Scavenger Hunt
This scavenger hunt is great for everyone. You could print a few copies and use it with a class, preschool group or youth group putting the kids into groups and using this as a game to see who can find everything first.
It would also be a good one to use on a walk with your kids. I know that my own children can sometimes (ok, pretty much every time) be less than inclined to go for a walk but having a printed scavenger hunt each gives them something fun to focus on instead. Just grab a pencil or pen to take with you.
This scavenger hunt is also one that you could use in your own back garden, can you find snails, ladybirds and flowers?

Do I Need To Find Everything on the Scavenger Hunt?
This of course is up to you but generally with my own kids I don’t expect to find everything and as we don’t run these as a competition (more as just a bit of fun) then we’re pretty relaxed about finding everything. Sometimes you’re just not going to find that caterpillar, it doesn’t matter.

More Scavenger Hunts for Kids
We’ve got both indoor and outdoor color scavenger hunts which are perfect for preschoolers that are learning about colours. As you’re likely to have something of every colour in your home as well it’s a good one if you have a child who needs to find everything on the list.
I love this super cute indoor scavenger hunt and I know it’s a popular one with parents too, you can even get your child to go and hunt for the items while you have a quick catch up on housework or grab a cup of tea! Grab some colouring pens or pencils and your child can colour in each item as they find them.
