Free Printable Frog Template
There so many things that frog crafts are perfect for, whether you want a letter F craft, something to make alongside a fairy-tale for a princess and the frog craft or if you are learning about animal life cycles. Frogs are the perfect choice!
We have two different frog templates that you can download, one is a blank outline of a frog that’s perfect for trying out some crafts with like mosaics or you can use the other template which has a little more detail – big round eyes and a mouth. I think this one is great for using as a coloring sheet.
You can print either or both designs and of course you can print as many copies as you like too, making this perfect for classroom use. I think this would look great colored in and then used to decorate a bulletin board!
Frog Life Cycle
Learning about a frog’s lifecycle is often something that comes up in preschool and kindergartens as well as the early years at school where kids learn more about the natural world.
Frogs lay eggs as frogspawn, these then hatch as tadpoles. By late summer the tadpoles grow tiny legs and then they develop into a froglet. The froglet will grow and develop into an adult frog.
There are over 5,000 species of frogs in the world and some frogs can jump over 20 times their own body length. Why not try measuring your child to see how big 20 times their body length would be?
There are also lots of frog life cycle crafts that you could make.
Frog Craft Ideas
Coloring – grab those markers, crayons or coloring pencils and color in your frog for a super simple activity that’s perfect for keeping kids busy when you don’t have time or room for getting out the paints and glue.
Frog Paper Plate Craft – make a simple frog craft by painting a paper plate green and then once it is dry use scissors to cut a v shape out of it to make it look like a lily pad. Print out your frog craft template, color it in and cut it out then glue it onto your paper plate lily pad.
Bubble Wrap – for a fun way to create a pattern on your frog template why not use bubble wrap to create some texture? Simple color or paint your frog green and then use a different colored green paint for the bubble wrap. When I’m painting with bubble wrap with my kids I like to seal the sides of it with tape to create a little envelope that they can put their hands in, it’s much less messy that way! They can then pour the paint onto a plate and dab the bubble wrap in it before dabbing it onto their frog.
Bingo Dabbers – like the idea of different colored green spots on your frog but don’t fancy getting the paints out? why not decorate it using bingo dabbers instead.
Frog Themed Books
Whether your planning on grabbing a couple of books from your local library or hoping to add something from a bookstore to your collection or book basket at home, these frog themed books are ones that I think would make great choices and are perfect for sharing with your child.

Our daffodil template has three different designs and is perfect for St Davids Day too.
Bunnies and rabbits are always perfect for this time of year, especially where Easter is involved! We love this cute rabbit template that has been really popular with kids too.
Finally going out to see newborn lambs is one of the failsafe ways I can normally get my kids to go out for a walk in spring so this lamb or sheep template seemed the perfect one to share.
