The sun is out and the holidays are edging ever closer which means that I’m allowing myself to share this round up of summer crafts for toddlers – hurray! We love sharing easy craft ideas that you can do with your kids and while summer is the perfect opportunity to get outside and play sometimes it’s also nice to have a few easy crafts as a back up if you need a bit of chill out time at home (or *whispers* if the weather is less than awesome) In this round up you’ll find lots of sun crafts, flowers, watermelons and loads more easy toddler crafts to keep you both happy….
Crafts for Toddlers
As a blogger I’ve spent more time on Pinterest than I’d like to admit to and a lot of that time has been looking at toddler crafts. When your child is a toddler it’s an amazing time as they learn more about the world but it can also be a really busy one as parent as you look for ways to keep them occupied and entertained. My problem with finding crafts for toddlers though is that… well, they’re not always that achievable. I’m a grown up, I do this for a job and there’s still stuff I see that I think I’d struggle to make. Sorry but it’s true!
With that in mind all the crafts for toddlers that I’m sharing in this post are ones that I’ve done with my own kids, although you’ll also find some free printables that while I didn’t do with my own kids at that age (because I didn’t have the printables then) are totally toddler friendly and perfect for an easy bit of colouring, painting or stamping. Hopefully they’ll help you and your toddlers find some easy activities that you can do together at home.
Crafting With Toddlers
Toddlers are generally considered to be aged 12 to 36 months old. As you will know this time in your child’s life is one of great development so it may be that they can’t do, or aren’t interested in, all of these crafts. If this is the case don’t worry, just bookmark or pin this post for later and you can always try out some different ideas with them in a month or two, it’s always surprising how quickly things can change! As a rather obvious but covering myself statement, you will need to supervise your toddler throughout these crafts, especially if you are using small items which can be a choking hazard.
Free Templates for Toddler Crafts
We share a lot of free templates for kids crafts and these are some of the most popular. They’d be great for a colouring or painting and each template also has some ideas with it for simple crafts that you could do with your child.

There’s so many paper plate chick crafts out there but I do think this one is super cute! I’ve also tried to make it (hopefully) a little less messy than a normal painting craft because… well because sometimes we like a change from grabbing a paintbrush and sometimes I need a break from ALL the mess. A bit of mess I can cope with but not all of it! Anyway this is a really easy and simple craft that’s good for Easter or just as a spring craft. You could use it as a farm animal craft too!
With the leaves changing colour and the days getting shorter it’s the perfect time to share some easy fall crafts for toddlers that are perfect to make on those days when you just want to stay inside! We’ve shared loads of crafts for toddlers that are perfect for one, two and three year olds. This age group are lovely to craft with as you can share their excitement about the change in season with them….
