Back To School Game
This printable game is perfect for using at home in the lead up for the return to school or of course you can use it in classrooms. Once you’ve downloaded the file you can print as many copies as you like and it’s a great way to get kids communicating with each other and making new friends!
While I’ve called this a back to school game you’ll notice that on the printable itself we’ve just called it a missing homework treasure hunt so if you need something to do with the kids later in the school year this is still a great option for you to use.
Supplies Needed
- School game PDF file
- Two sheets of white paper
- Marker pens
How To Do Your School Treasure Hunt
Start by printing out two copies of the game, one for each player. Each player needs to take a pen and draw their hidden homework somewhere in a box in the bottom grid. You can draw a sheet of paper or just mark an X – whatever works best for you.
Fold up the bottom half of your game sheet so that your opponent can’t see where you’ve hidden your homework.
Now it’s time to guess where the other players homework is hidden so take it in turns to ask questions like ‘Is your homework hidden on the bookcase?’
If the answer is no then you can cross out all of the squares in the bookcase but if they answer yes then next time you might want to try and get a little more specific, is the homework on a shelf with a yellow book?
Once you think you know where the homework is hidden you can give the specific grid reference, for example ‘Is your homework hidden in D3?’
The winner is the first person to correctly guess the location of their opponents homework.
