We’ve been trying out a few Christmas tree crafts this week and this bubble wrap Christmas craft was probably my daughters favourite! It’s possibly more process arts than strictly a craft as it’s all about the actual painting but it does look like a Christmas tree at the end still so I guess it’s a bit of a combination. Our idea was to decorate our trees with ‘Christmas lights’ or baubles which I think kind of worked? Either way it was good fun and was a great Christmas craft to do after preschool.

Making Your Bubble Wrap Christmas Craft
We started by cutting the Christmas tree shapes out of green card. Older kids should be fine at cutting these out themselves but at just four this shape was a bit too tricky for my daughters so we did some of the cutting together or I cut the shapes and she pulled bits of card away to make the tree shape.
Next up was the bubble wrap, using tape I made little mittens from our bubble wrap, this made them easier to use and a lot less messy too. My daughter squeezed all the paints out onto a plate, this makes it easier to push your hand down onto and having all the colours together normally starts up a conversation about how different colours are made through mixing.
Once that was done all that’s left is to put your bubble wrapped hands into the paint and then get started on painting your trees! This is such a simple activity but with younger kids the simple stuff often really is the best and my daughter really loved this.
Want more easy Christmas crafts for kids? Why not try our scrunched paper Christmas trees? Or if you’d like another bubble wrap Christmas craft this bubble wrap snowman craft should be perfect. Like practising scissor skills? This paper plate snowflake twirler is perfect. And if you liked this craft don’t forget to pin the image below so you don’t forget to make it!
