Lego Autumn Leaves Craft

6th September 2017 by Kate Williams | 6 Comments

This sweet lego autumn leaves craft is perfect for little hands and a great way to introduce the change in season. I love using household objects in a slightly different way so using lego instead of a normal paintbrush seems a lot more interesting!

Lego Autumn Leaves Craft

To make your lego autumn leaves craft you will need:

White card

Paint – brown, red, green, yellow, orange

Paint brush

Duplo or Lego

Plate / plastic lid

Let’s make it:

Start by drawing a tree trunk onto the white card using brown paint. I find that card holds paint a lot better than paper so it’s better for crafts like this where a lot is likely to get splashed around! If you don’t have any brown paint you can mix some up yourself or you could use brown card or packaging – maybe upcycling some old letters – and then stick it down onto your card.

Next is getting the paint ready, use a plastic plate or lid (like an ice cream carton lid) so that there’s plenty of room for stamping your paint, of course it’s absolutely fine if the colours run into each other as lots of leaves have more than one colour to them. You may notice at this point that I’ve listed yellow paint but it’s not actually used in these pictures? That’s because my daughter up-ended bottles of green and yellow paint all over herself the other week and I forgot to restock. And when I say upended I really mean it – I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much paint everywhere!

For this picture we used duplo rather than lego because it’s easier for little hands to hold but by all means go with whatever you have in the house.

Using your lego stamp autumn coloured leaves all onto your tree, I think more is definitely better with this one?!

If you like the sound of this craft make sure than you bookmark it or pin the image below so you don’t forget to make it! Want for autumn crafts ideas? Our autumn leaf suncatchers are crazy popular or you could try out this cool craft using popcorn!

What a lovely idea – I would never think to use LEGO in this way but it’s really effective!
