Build A Kite Printable

Kites are often seen as a bit of a spring thing but to be honest as long as it’s not raining and there’s a bit of wind outside they’re a great activity for the whole year through.

Our cut and paste kite printable is a great way for kids to design their own kite. Download the PDF file and you’ll find seven pages with different kite designs and loads of decorations to choose from.

Craft Supplies

  • Build a kite PDF
  • White paper or cardstock
  • Coloring pencils, colored markers or crayons
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • String or twine
  • Sticks
  • Tape

How To Make Your Own Kite

  1. Print out the kite templates that you want to use, if you want to add extra decorations to your kite then print those pages out too.
  2. Color in your kite, the decorations that you want to add and the bows.
  3. Following the dotted lines on the printable use scissors to cut out all the parts that you’ve colored in.
  4. Glue your decorations onto your kite.
  5. Attach some string or ribbon to the bottom of your kite using tape and then use the tape to attach the bows to the string.
  6. If you would like to fly your kite then tape some thin sticks (such as thin bamboo sticks) onto the back of your kite and then tie a long piece of string onto the sticks that you will be able hold onto while your kite is in the air.

Ice cream are another topic that are kind of officially for the warmer months but if you asked my kids they’re definitely one that’s suitable for the whole year through! This cut and paste ice cream printable is a fun kids craft where they can add sprinkles, cherries and a chocolate flake.

Finally our outdoor scavenger hunt is always a great option and it has UK and US spellings available too. My kids thought this was a wonderful activity and it kept them busy for ages as they hunted for each thing and then colored in the corresponding picture.
