3D Paper Baubles

These paper baubles are a fantastic paper craft to make as they’re so simple and they make great ornaments too!

In the PDF file you’ll find four different designs to choose from – stars, a zig zag design, stripes and a plain ornament design.

You can make all four designs or just choose your favourite one to make.

Craft Supplies

  • 3D Paper baubles PDF
  • Paper or cardstock
  • Colored pencils, colored markers or crayons
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Hole punch
  • String or ribbon

How To Make Your Paper Baubles

Start by printing out the templates for the designs that you want to use. You can use all four of the designs or just one and of course you can print each design as many times as you like.

For this craft I would recommend using cardstock or thicker paper if you have it. The designs still work with paper  but they will work a lot better with cardstock and will hold together better.

Color in your bauble. As the designs will be slotted together to make them 3D I would recommend giving them the same color scheme throughout so that it will join together.

Using your scissors, cut out each of the baubles following the dotted lines around the edges.

Glue the two matching sides together back to back so that the design is on the outside and then cut into the two different designs from the top or the bottom following the dotted lines on them.

Slide the two parts of the ornaments together through the slits that you have made. If the designs do not quite meet up then you can always make one of your slits slightly longer but be careful not to make them too long, less is more.

Use your hole punch to make a circular hole in the top of the paper ornament and then thread a bit of string or ribbon through it.

Tie it into a loop so that you can hang it onto your Christmas tree and then fold your ornament out into an X shape.
