Build a Polar Bear Craft
During the winter period we tend to do a lot of arctic animal crafts. I love snowy owls and narwhals but I think that polar bears have to be my favorite, there’s just something very majestic and special about them.
As well as being a great topic during the colder months, polar bears can also be a really good topic if you’re learning about the environment or even for Earth Day as I think we’re all well aware these days of how their home is being impacted by climate change.
This simple craft is a great way to practice your child’s scissor skills as they cut out the different parts of the polar bear.
You’ll also find a couple of facts about polar bears on the printable PDF and you’ll find some ideas for more easy polar bear crafts below as well as some ideas for polar bear books that you could share with your child.
Polar Bear Craft Supplies
- Build a polar bear PDF
- White cardstock or paper
- Scissors
- Glue or double sided tape
- Coloring materials – markers, crayons or coloring pencils
Cut and Paste Polar Bear Craft
To make your build a polar bear craft start by printing the PDF onto white paper or cardstock.
Printing onto white printer paper means that it will be easier to cut (and is what I’ve used for the pictures here) but cardstock will make it slightly more durable and sturdy, helpful if you want to put some thread on the pack of this and use it as a Christmas tree decoration.
Next color in the different parts. As the bear is white you can leave this blank but you might like to color the bear’s cheeks pink and you can color in a hat and the scarf too.
Grab your scissors and cut out the separate parts of your polar bear and its accessories.
Glue your polar bear’s scarf onto it’s body before gluing it’s head on and then stick the bear’s nose onto its face.
Stick your polar bear’s hat and scarf on and your craft is finished.

Instructions
- Print the PDF file onto white paper or cardstock.
- Color in the different parts of the polar bear and it's accessories.
- Cut the parts out using scissors.
- Stick the polar bear's scarf onto the top of their body.
- Glue their head on top of this and then add their nose and hat to finish.
